Preparing for 11g OCP is a long and tedious task. I have to install Oracle Linux and on top of that the 11.2 RDBMS release, in order to have a study environment for the 11g OCP preparation.
My home PC experiences some quirks when installing OEL 5 Update 8. After booting in single-user mode it turns out that the ATI Radeon driver supplied with OEL 5 Update 5 and higher is behaving strangely when used with the X Window System user interface. So after installation I had to remove the Radeon drivers from the /lib/firmware directory in order to be able to do something decent with this environment.
The next step I'm battling with is how to enable the Belkin 54g wireless adapter, so I can implement a one-node RAC environment. This all in preparation for the much anticipated OCM exam which I want to take as well when finished with the OCP 11g exam.
The study materials are already available for OCP exam preparation. I only need to purchase the test exams to check whether I have the right knowledge.
Now back to work....
